FatScan AI provides AI-estimated body composition analysis from photos. Our results are approximate estimates based on computer vision models and should not be considered medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

2. Disclaimer & Accuracy

This service is for entertainment and informational purposes only.

• Results are AI-generated estimates, not medical diagnoses or measurements
• AI estimates have a typical margin of error of ±5-10% or more
• Accuracy varies significantly based on photo quality, lighting, clothing, body position, angle, and individual body type
• Results are not equivalent to professional body composition methods
• Do not make health, fitness, dietary, or medical decisions based solely on our results
• Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice

For accurate body composition analysis, use specialized professional equipment:

• DEXA scanning (dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry) — gold standard, available at medical facilities
• Hydrostatic weighing — underwater body density measurement
• BIA (bioelectrical impedance analysis) — available at fitness centers and clinics
• Skinfold caliper measurement — performed by trained professionals

These methods are available at medical facilities, fitness centers, and diagnostic laboratories.

3. Not a Medical Device

FatScan AI is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or healthcare service.

• The service does not provide medical consultations or advice
• Results cannot be used for diagnosing, treating, or monitoring any medical condition
• The service is not intended to replace professional medical evaluation

4. Mental Health & Eating Disorders

Body composition estimates may be sensitive content for some individuals.

• Results may trigger or worsen negative body image — use with care
• You accept full responsibility for how you use and interpret the results

5. Age Restriction

You must be at least 18 years old to use this service. FatScan AI is not intended for use by minors. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older.

6. Account & Communications

• You must provide a valid email address to create an account
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
• One account per person
• By creating an account, you consent to receive service-related emails including onboarding tips, scan reminders, product updates, and marketing communications
• You may unsubscribe from non-transactional emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email
• Transactional emails (password resets, security alerts) cannot be opted out of while your account is active

7. Scan Limits

• Free: 1 scan per account, forever. That's it — no subscriptions, no hidden fees.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload photos of other people without their consent
• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or abuse the AI system
• Create multiple accounts to bypass scan limits
• Use results for discriminatory, harassing, or harmful purposes

9. AI Processing

Your photos are processed using third-party AI services (OpenAI, Anthropic) for analysis. By using the service, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Photos are transmitted to AI providers for processing
• Photos are processed in memory only and are not stored by us
• AI providers may process data according to their own privacy policies
• AI results are generated algorithmically and may contain errors

10. Analytics & Tracking

By using FatScan AI, you agree that we may use the following analytics services:

• Google Analytics — to analyze website traffic and usage patterns
• Meta (Facebook) Pixel — to measure advertising effectiveness
• Microsoft Clarity — to record user sessions and generate heatmaps for UX improvement

11. Limitation of Liability

FatScan AI is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or merchantability.

• We are not liable for any physical, psychological, or emotional harm arising from use of the service or its results
• We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of results
• Maximum liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the service ($0 for free tier)
• You use the service and its results entirely at your own risk

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FatScan AI, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your reliance on the results provided.

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
